Roanoke Vineyards is the North Fork's red wine specialist, creating award winning and World Class Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. Established in 2000 by veteran grower Rich Pisacano, Roanoke Vineyards has become something of a cult winery, with a devoted following; the wines are available only at the vineyard, and from Roanoke's website. Roanoke Vineyards is dedicated to extreme quality, and willing to do whatever it takes to achieve this goal.

The Roanoke Vineyards Tasting Room has a rustic feel that dates back to its origins as the headquarters of the Young Family Farm. The wines are far from rustic; Roanoke Vineyards creates some of the most elegant and fine wines anywhere in the world. Roanoke also represents the wines of Wölffer Estate Vineyard from Sagaponack, New York. Be sure to visit the New Roanoke Vineyards Gallery while at the Tasting Room. The gallery exhibits cutting edge contemporary work from New York and around the world.

I've been acquainted with the wines from Roanoke Vineyards for many years. The wines deserve the highest praise. From wines that are drinkable now, (Chardonnay and Rose), to the reds that can be aged for many years (I'm still enjoying the 2001 Merlot),

This extremely rich wine is an aphrodisiac for some. Fabulous structure, lush berry and currant flavors abound. 2007 provided perfect conditions for Cab Sauvignon; dry, hot, and windy right through the harvest. This is a perfect wine.
2007 Roanoke Vineyards Gabby's Cabernet Franc Vintage - Cabernet Franc - Red

Now in his 80th year, Gabby Pisacano draws on much experience when tending the Roanoke Vineyards Cabernet Franc. In good weather and bad, Gabby manages the canopy, edits the fruit, and monitors every vine. Great wine is made in the vineyard, but a power assist from winemaker Roman Roth completes the package. Gabby's Cabernet Franc is the smoothest and most sought after Cab Franc in the region.
