Balfour Brut Rosé is grown exclusively on the enchanting Hush Heath Estate in deepest Kent, from three classic Champagne varieties –Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.

Hidden from the world by a giant cordon sanitaire of ancient woodland, the flavour and essence of Balfour Brut Rosé owes much to its magical setting.

The vineyard was established in 2002 with initial plantings of 5 acres. This has been followed by further plantings of 17.5 acres. The overall encépagement is 45% Pinot Noir, 45% Chardonnay and 5% Pinot Meunier. Plans are afoot to build a winery at Hush Heath and the new vineyards will take the brand to around 100,000 bottles a year.

Balfour Brut Rosé has a delicate salmon-pink colour, a fresh-fruit nose with elements of strawberries and raspberries on he bouquet with an underlying, but not dominant, yeasty character. On the palate, freshness, crispness and lightness on the initial attack, give way to a pleasing, subtly flavoured, fruit-filled wine with a soft mousse and good length of flavour.
