Description:

Over the past six years Cape Point Vineyards have been awarded more Trophies at the Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show and more 5 Star ratings from Platters than any other South African Producer.

Cape Point Vineyards is the only wine producer in the Cape Point region; the confluence zone between the chilly currents of the Atlantic Ocean and the tropical waves of the Indian Ocean. It is in this unique setting that Cape Point Vineyards produces quality handcrafted wines.
The Site History
The vineyards are being developed on two different sites, which have been chosen specifically for their location and suitability to different grape varieties. Once planting is complete, there will be approximately 50ha under vine.

Noordhoek Site
The oldest of our vineyard sites, these South facing vineyards were planted in 1997 and currently consists of approximately 30 Ha of vines planted under Sauvignon blanc, Pinot Noir, and some Semillon and Chardonnay. The site is 2 km from the Atlantic Ocean and varies from 40m to 280m above mean sea level. The once indigenous stream is being restored to its former state with indigenous trees.

Redhill site
Our newest vineyards site, we planted vines on the north-facing slope in August 2000 with Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. This vineyard is the most southerly on the Cape Peninsula.

The Tasting Room
Offering wine-tastings and opportunities to purchase wines a stone’s throw from the vineyards themselves enables us for the first time to bring our customers into this special environment that is the very essence of what Cape Point Vineyards is about. We are proud to add a wine-tasting venue at our Chapmans Peak Estate to the array of attractions visitors can enjoy in this special part of the world.

Join us for a tasting of our unique, handcrafted wines,

Mondays – Fridays: 09:00 – 17:00,

Saturdays: 10:00 – 17:00,

Sundays: 10:00 – 16:00,

Closed: 25 December, 1 January and Good Friday

The Wine
Our wines are available under two labels: Our premium range comprises the Cape Point Vineyards - Sauvignon Blanc Reserve, - Chardonnay, - Semillon and - Isliedh (a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semilon), whereas our secondary, more fruit driven range - Splattered Toad (named for our lovable neighbour, the endangered Western Leopard Toad) is available as a Sauvignon Blanc and a Shiraz Cabarnet Sauvignon.

Regarded as one of the worlds’ premium varieties, Sauvignon Blanc lends itself to a number of different styles. We have entranced this versatility at Cape Point Vineyards and are producing different wines to offer the consumer a more complete Sauvignon Blanc experience.

2010 Splattered Toad Sauvignon Blanc Vintage - Sauvignon Blanc - White

Retail Price: R38.00

Dedicated to our lovable neighbour: the Western Leopard Toad. To help protect it, we are donating R1 from every bottle sold to the CPV Sustainability Fund. A vibrant and fruit forward Sauvignon Blanc: tropical fruit such as melons, spanspek, pineapple, grapefruit, limes and freshly cut grass dominate the nose, following through to a zesty, lively palate. Best enjoyed on warm summer days with fresh oysters, linefish and good friends
