Description:
An historic property with 8.5 hectares of vineyard splayed around a 14th century farmhouse and a 10th century castle ruin. The farm is being slowly restored but still boasts a working 600 year old bread oven and rustic but comfortable accommodations. Don't worry there are enough modern conveniences to satisfy the eager traveler.
While the Monte Lauro accepts guests all visits must be by appointment only and occur only when the proprietor or his representatives are in.
Currently making and marketing three wines with a pan to be making up to 5 with in a year and ten by the end of next year.
Although we are a newly named vineyard the family Montlaur has owned the vines for well over a thousand years. With our first production in 2008 the vineyard became the oldest continuously owned wine making establishment in the world with documentation to 950 AD.

Details:
Tour the beautiful Pic St Loup Region of the Languedoc. A five winery tour of the famous Pic St. Loup wine region featuring many of the names that have built the region's reputation including Domaine l'Hortus, Domaine Villeneuve and others.
This afternoon tour guided by vineyard owner Michael Belanger of Monte Lauro Vineyards starts and ends at Monte Lauro and includes stops at five vineyards, opportunities to purchase wine from the selected vineyards, a 7 passenger van and the ever present opportunity for a little serendipity to make the day extra special.
Plan to participate in the communal dinner* in the courtyard of the medieval farm at Montlaur in the evening for an experience like no other.
