Description:

The quality of our handcrafted wines starts in the vineyard with our committment to offering terrior-inspired wines. This embodies the essence of our winemaking philosophy, which is passionately rooted in the heart and soul. - Kimball Lacey, Winemaker

It was Charles and Mollie Lacey's dream to own their own winery. They first purchased a house and some land in Prince Edward County in the '80s with the intention of retiring there and later added the land beside them, where their dream would come true after Charles and his son Kimball attended a grape seminar at one of the local wineries.

From then on it was full steam ahead as family members Liz Lacey, Andrew and Cynthia Gray and Lisa Lacey Liscoumb joined in, and in 2003 the first vines were planted. More vines followed over the next few years, and today Lacey Estates has about 8,000 vines growing. In 2008 we opened the winery, and have never looked back. Our wines have not only received critical acclaim from noted wine writers such as Tony Aspler, David Lawrason, Michael Pinkus and Patricia Dinsmore, but have also gotten rave reviews from our customers.

Our wines are 100 per cent estate-grown, all from our own vines. We currently have 8 acres under vine, and we're growing Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Baco Noir and Pinot Noir. Our soil is Hiller Clay Loam which, we believe, is one of the best soil types for growing wine grapes

Wine List

2010 2008

2010 Gewurztraminer - Gewurztraminer - White

Retail Price: $22.00

no photo

Strong perfumed nose of lychee, rose petals and honeysuckle. This wine is full bodied with intense spicy notes which lead to a palate of light apricot, peach, ginger and grapefruit notes. There is a strong minerality throughout the wine ending with a robust finish. This wine is done ina dry Alsatian style. Can be cellared for 2-4 years

2010 Riesling Off-Dry Vintage - Riesling - White

Retail Price: $21.00

no photo

Our 2010 Riesling shows off the unique clay loam and limestone characteristics of Hillier soils in Prince Edward County. The minerality comes through with predominant flavours of ripe apple and pear leaving a lingering crisp and fresh mouth feel. This wine appeals to the palate now and can also be celleared for 2-4 years

2010 Pinot Gris - Pinot Gris Pinot Grigio - White

Retail Price: $22.00

no photo

A serious Pinot Gris, not typical as seen in its colours. Extended skin contact gives this wine a copper hue. Fresh and vibrant fruits show through with a long finish. Serve chilled. This is a complex wine, enjoyable now, and may also be cellared for 2-4 years.
